Started in 2001, the Dot NAME TLD is the sole TLD meant for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. At first, just third-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to secure john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken 3rd-level domain names remained online.

Through our company, you can obtain your .NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will be able to change the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar company and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular rules on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the idea behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
