A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a typo. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam email messages, but this problem can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also vital to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a cloud hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel offers quite a lot of functions, but it is extremely easy to work with, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only one click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you will simply have to click the "Catch-all" button for the specific email address. Our system will warn you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and takes yet another mouse click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be enabled without any effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll see a small icon conveniently located right next to each of them. With just a single mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this option through the menu that will come into sight. In case any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will inform you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
